During 4-5 May, 10-12 explosions occurred from the lava dome. A strong lahar descended on 6 May, starting from 21:45 local time. The mud flow was 30 m wide and 2.5 m deep, and descended the Cabello de Ángel drainage, a tributary of the Nimá I river drainage on Santa María’s S flank, carrying branches, tree trunks, and blocks up to 2 m in diameter.
